His Story

Chikko’s story with WAGS began when he was just a tiny puppy, after being given away at a construction site in Auckland.

Back then, he was small enough to fit inside a shoebox. Today, he’s a handsome large-breed Lab mix who has just celebrated his second birthday - and it’s fair to say he’s grown into those paws!

With an estimated birthday of 1 September 2024, Chikko has spent much of his life in our care, and we’ve had the privilege of watching that tiny puppy grow into the beautiful boy he is today.

His Personality

Chikko is a calm, gentle and incredibly lovable boy with a soft and sensitive nature.

He loves spending time with his people and being included in everyday life, but he’s still a young dog and certainly enjoys having a good play with his rescue mates too.

Chikko has beautiful manners and is a genuinely lovely dog to have around. He’s affectionate, enjoys companionship and has had plenty of experience socialising with other dogs while in our care.

Chikko has come a very long way from the shoebox-sized puppy who first arrived in our care, and now it’s time for this beautiful boy to find a family of his own.

He deserves a home where he can be included, loved and appreciated for the gentle, affectionate boy he is - with people who will continue the great foundation he already has and give him plenty of opportunities to enjoy life alongside them.

Chikko is ready for the next part of his story. All he needs now is someone to choose him. 💙🐾
