From Garage Gloom to Farmyard Freedom: Mr H Becomes Moose

When Pip and Ally got the call, they didn’t hesitate. What they found was heartbreaking: a dog family in desperate need. Three skinny pups shut in a filthy garage with their exhausted mum. No food. No water. Just mess, hunger, and sadness. Outside, their dad was tied up, unable to reach them. It was a scene that no dog lover should ever have to witness but one that happens far too often.

Among that little pack was Mr H quiet, underweight, and unsure of the world.

In 2023, Mr H came into Sweet Noah's care and everything began to change. With three months of proper food, vet care, and non-stop love, he started to grow not just in size, but in confidence. He quickly became a favourite with everyone who met him.

Next stop? K9 Heaven our amazing boarding sponsor and doggy school of life. There, Mr H learned the ropes of socialising with other dogs, running in packs, and most importantly, trusting again. He won the hearts of the whole K9 Heaven crew both two-legged and four-legged. They called him gentle. Sweet. A total sweetheart. And they weren’t wrong.

Then the day came.

A perfect match in Palmerston North. A loving family. A farm to roam. K9 cousins to play with. And a life full of wide open spaces, cuddles, and adventures. Mr H is now proudly known as Moose a name just as big and loveable as he is.

Today, Moose is thriving. Living his best life with his forever family Niki and her crew who adore him as much as we do. From cold concrete floors to grassy paddocks, Moose reminds us what rescue is all about: transformations, second chances, and unconditional love.
